Fair first edition bound copy of the acclaimed illustrated magazine. Contains 6 monthly issues. Original bindings, marbled cover and quarter-bound in red leather, gilt lettering to spine, with five raised bands.
Includes rare, wonderful photo story 'Alpine Pass on Ski' by A. Conan Doyle, with extensive photos of Conan Doyle (see photos here). Also, 'Lord of the Chateau Noir' by Conan Doyle, 'The Medal of Brigadier Gerard' by Conan Doyle.
In addition the usual gems of Victorian literature, photographical curiosities and journalism such as, 'Beauties', 'Distinguished Women and Their Dolls', 'The Dogs of Celebrities', 'The Handwriting of Alfred Lord Tennyson', 'The Duke of Saxe-Coburg's Palaces'.
Front and rear cover rubbed, corners bumped and edges worn. Foxing and spotting to some pages and covers. Some pages watermarked and a few dog-eared. Binding tight and sound and pages clean and bright. This is in overall sound condition and unusual in that it has its original bindings and no repairs.
