Reynolds by S.L. Bensusan, Illustrated with Eight Reproductions in Colour
Masterpieces in Colour, series edited by T. Leman Hare
T.C & E.C. Jack publishers, 1910
This is one of the series from the Masterpieces in Colour series, highly-collectable and very sought after. They are charming books in their own right but have the additional merit of 8 very attractive colour plates and a narrative form of art history scholarship that was very much of its time (full of opinion, anecdote and rivetting unsubstantiated claim). Both the bold, open typeface and the attractive front cover make them aesthetically appealing and a collector's item.
