This was a very substantial and important exhibition held at the major European museums. It is a fascinating catalogue, organised by artist (with biography and background to their work - in French). 88 major artists represented each one with at least one page of detailed notes and representative art works. It is a rich and varied selection of artists working in the Symbolist movement - a real gem for art historians and a scarce item on the market now. Its real interest lies, though, in its selection of artists - both comprehensive and worth hours of browsing...I have included a selection of photos below to give an idea of the scope and detail in this lovely book.

Large book, quarto, 274 pages, 14 pages of background Introduction/Essay, background notes on Exhibitions, Bibliography etc. 266 illustrations largely in b&w but nice selection in full colour. Condition is Good with some slight shelfwear to edges and edges a little marked. Internally clean, tight and illustrations clear.
